This beautiful story, script, and subject were such a gift for which I will always be grateful. It was part of a series, Love Animated, that launched for Valentine’s Day. My piece kicked off that week with a whole lot of tears.

Because this Great Big Story takes you on a roller coaster of emotions, both joyous and sorrowful, I knew I needed to hit just the right tone. Color felt like an integral piece to achieving that goal, so I carefully mapped out transitioning color to color from scene to scene so that the palette remained cohesive while hitting the notes required.
