When Great Big Story 1.0 was shut down, stopped paying for Vimeo, and we lost our Staff Pick. I’m still claiming it!
Doug Gordon was a joy of an animator to work with on this one…and that overhead shot of the car driving up to the gas station never would have happened if he hadn't made that whole scene in Cinema 4d. Beautiful serendipity.

Below is a bit of a color palette study that I went through at the beginning of the project. I wanted to hint at the colors of the American flag, without using actual red, white and blue.
While it wasn’t the best option for this project, I really loved the version with teal. Might have to come back to that color palette in the future!
